Collection & Review: Wet n Wild Color Icon Blushes!

There's so much buzz around Wet n' Wild eyeshadows that I think we all forget that they are a FULL make-up brand with more to offer than just shadows! One of my favorite products from them is their HIGHLY pigmented, and silky blushes! I have three - Berry Shimmer, Pearlescent Pink, and Heather Silk.

 Berry Shimmer

Pearlescent Pink
Heather Silk

L to R: Berry Shimmer, Pearlescent Pink, Heather Silk

Berry shimmer is a sultry pearly brick red with gold shimmer. I love to use this, not on the apples on my cheeks, but along the side of my cheeks to lightly contour. It gives my cheeks the most subtle glow perfect for Fall and Winter! Pair this blush with a dark lipstick for a dramatic look or a nude lip for a subtle, elegant look.

Pearlescent Pink is a coral with chunky silver shimmer. This blush is perfect in the summer as the shimmer really picks up sunlight and leaves your cheeks glowing! Use this blush directly on the apples of the cheeks or, if you have skin with a yellow undertone, this blush (applied lightly) makes a really nice highlight. I love this blush paired with a sheer coral gloss on the lips and smoky eye.

Heather Silk is a deep pink with absolutely no shimmer! It's perfect for the daytime all year round or those summer nights when you wanna glam up just a bit. Beware of pairing this blush with cool colors as it has a bit of a blueish cool undertone. Stick to warm colors and neutrals :)

I am absolutely in love with these Wet n Wild blushes! Find them at your local drugstore for the fraction of the price of other drugstore blushes. I promise you will NOT be disappointed with this highly pigmented, silky smooth blushes!

Length Check ... again! (Better this time)

After the first length check I did, I decided to do it again wearing a sports bra this time. Since I insist on using my body as a measuring tape, I need to be able to see my body!

Fun fact: Ever since I typed "my body as a measuring tape", I've been singing it out loud to the tune of "Your Body is a Wonderland" by John Mayer! LOL!

& by the way, I have measured my strands... they are 8" everywhere except the top. They're a little longer on the top, I don't remember how long. But when I first got my hair cut, I left the top a little longer.

See the video below for my March 2011 length check! What a difference 7 months makes! <3

OOTD - 10/6/2011

I found this Banana Republic denim skirt at the thrift store! I think I paid $6.75 for it! Who WOULDN'T be addicted to the thrift store after hearing a price like that!?

I wore this mustard yellow skinny belt with tassel detail from H&M around the waist & paired it with this taupe v-neck tee which is also from H&M. This jacket is an old casual blazer I got from Aeropostale years ago! It's definitely my favorite casual jacket/blazer. For shoes, I wore my teal Blowfish flats.

The floor lamp in my room is broken ... *sigh* I have to hold it to get it to stay on ... hence, the arm up in every picture.

My hair is in a simple puff. I don't worry about my edges looking neat because since my goal is to grow my hair, I don't put stress on my hair and especially not my edges. If it's a little messy, that's just fine with me :)

Have a beautiful day!

Length Check - 1 inch from Armpit Length!

I have to confess ... I probably check my length daily. It's not always on purpose. When I go to detangle my hair, especially since it's been in an afro state for the past week, I make sure to stretch the strands to get all of the shed hairs out.

Two days ago, I asked a girl I work with in the lab if she wanted to see what my hair looked like when it was REALLY short. Her response? "Oh... you mean even shorter than it is NOW!?" She isn't used to afro-textured hair and doesn't understand that my hair is in a shrunken state right now. Of course, her hair is way down her back so most everything is "short" to her. But I tried to explain the whole "shrunken hair" thing to her as well as the fact that what is considered "long" or "medium length" to black people isn't the same as "long" or "medium length" to everyone else because we're just not used to seeing our hair grow so long!

Anyway, here are a few pictures of my current length. I don't know the length in inches and I realized that I need to do these length check pictures from now on in a sports bra because the back is completely unclear!

Ok ... enjoy! (I guess...)

this is why I need to wear a sports bra ... the back is not clear at all ... and I need someone else to hold my camera!

Not super clear from this photo, but it's about an inch away from my armpit!

I remember when my hair finally reached my nose and I was excited! Now it's below my bottom lip! YAY!

The 'fro I'm rockin today with a sheer, black scarf tied around the perimeter :)

Have a beautiful day!
